Manchester United’s planned lineup to face Man City in the FA Cup final

It’s the last weekend of the FA Cup between Manchester United and Manchester City to finish the season with titles, here is our planned lineup.

After a long and tumultuous season for Manchester United, the end is in sight with just one more game left, and it will define the entire campaign.

For Erik ten Hag it is a last chance to claim that Ineos should be in charge this summer and next season.

Now that most of the injury list has returned, the manager has options to make against the Premier League champions who have swept United twice this season.

That said, there is something about this game that makes United feel like they can do it. But here you have all the news from the team ahead of the final.

Manchester United team news for FA Cup final vs City

After a season plagued by injuries, for the most important game of the campaign, those problems diminish significantly.

But there are still absentees: Ten Hag confirmed on Thursday that Harry Maguire will miss the final, while Luke Shaw also remains out.

The team will be bolstered by the return of Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelof and Mason Mount. Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martínez are also likely to be available to start.

Here is our planned lineup for the game…

How should Manchester United line up against Manchester City for the FA Cup final?

With a mostly fit squad to choose from, Ten Hag has the best possible chance of lifting the trophy on Saturday.

In goal, there is no doubt that Andre Onana will start at Wembley, as he has been a constant presence this season.

Moving on to defence, we expect the full-back positions to remain as they have been for weeks with Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the right and Player of the Year Diogo Dalot on the left.

In central defence, signs point to a reunited duo of Martinez and Varane, both now fit once again and this is the pairing that gives United the best chance of success.

In midfield, Kobbie Mainoo begins his first senior cup final, with a draw between Casemiro and Sofyan Amrabat joining him, Ten Hag likely to opt for the Brazilian.

Going forward, as we have seen in recent weeks, there is a possibility of Ten Hag playing in midfield with Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes as a mix of number 10 and forwards.

This leaves the wing positions and while Marcus Rashford is a great player, there is no chance of Alejandro Garnacho or Amad Diallo being dropped as they both played key roles in the trip to the final.

For United, this would leave a strong bench with several options to use as the game progresses.
