As KwaZulu-Natal’s coastal waters begin to churn, anticipation is reaching fever pitch among locals and businesses as the Earth’s largest sandbank, the sardine corridor, officially begins.

On a crisp Sunday morning on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, netters and fishermen rejoiced as the bright silver mass migrated along the coast.

According to the KwaZulu-Natal Shark Board’s Center of Maritime Excellence, signs of activity were detected on Friday, but weather conditions were terrible.
