Fremantle Dockers v Collingwood Magpies results, results, fixtures, teams, tips, games, how to watch

Collingwood captain Darcy Moore spoke to Channel Seven after the match.

Darcy, overtime or not overtime?

From the way they were returning home, I’m inclined to say there won’t be any overtime. Yeah, it’s funny, isn’t it? I don’t know. I don’t know, here again. What’s happening? Six weeks since the last one. It’s a fun feeling. Obviously we have some guys with a little less experience and they get a lot out of that game. Take the positives from that game. Take the positives that way, but right now it feels pretty terrible to let it slip away. I still have two points, I guess.

What’s up with you guys and close games?

It’s crazy. I know. It’s like we… It’s not fun enough when there are some goals in it. It’s like someone wants to make it interesting. Credit to Freo. They just kept playing their system and really attacking the running back, as you may have seen, especially late, which, yeah, is a credit to them. It’s difficult to play like that for a whole game. They did a very good job. They took a risk late. That makes it difficult.

He must be a very proud captain, he has six players here in less than 10 games, a couple of debutants. While you’d love to get your older, more experienced guys fit and running, it’s good to give the younger ones some opportunities.

100 percent. As a captain, it really gives me a lot of energy to see these guys. I see day by day how hard these guys work to have this opportunity and the fans and viewers at home don’t get to see that. They just see what they offer on Friday Night Footy. Watching them develop and play to their strengths and get a chance at this level makes me feel really great as a captain and a bit of a marker of our environment, how well they’re doing and being as competitive as we are. You know, having that game lead for as long as we did in the second half and just letting it slip away at the end makes you feel pretty proud considering how inexperienced we are right now.
