A road accident involving a red Scania Marcopolo bus with registration number GW 9090-18 has reportedly led to multiple deaths and injuries on the Accra to Kumasi highway.

The accident occurred early Friday morning around 4:00 am in Atwemamena, a community between Bunso and Akyem Asafo in the Eastern Region.

The bus, traveling from Kumasi towards Accra, collided with a truck heading in the opposite direction.

Eyewitnesses described the accident as serious and noted that “several passengers, including the bus driver and his companion, lost their lives. I saw a decapitated leg in the destroyed front of the bus. “The victims have been transported to Suhum Government Hospital for emergency care.”

This tragic event is part of a worrying trend in Ghana, where traffic accidents remain alarmingly frequent.
