NWR and Napwu increase employee compensation

Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) and the Namibia Public Workers Union (Napwu) have agreed to improve the compensation structure and housing allowance of bargaining unit employees.

Under this new agreement, effective November 1, 2023, all employees in job grades A1 through D3 who currently earn less than the minimum compensation scale will be aligned with the new minimum (25th) percentile of the new pay scale. .

“This adjustment ensures equitable compensation for employees in the bargaining unit and appreciates their valuable contributions to the business,” NWR CEO Matthias Ngwangwama said during the signing ceremony in Windhoek on Tuesday.

In addition to the salary changes, a total adjustment of N$5,500 will be made to the housing allowance over a three-year period.

This adjustment will begin in fiscal year 2023 and continue through fiscal year 2025/26.

Ngwangwama stated that the objective of this phased strategy is to provide employees with long-term support, improving their living conditions and overall well-being.

He added that NWR and Napwu are committed to fostering a positive and equitable work environment, ensuring that all employees receive fair and competitive compensation.
