‘The country is in good hands’: Strict measures have been put in place to ensure elections run smoothly

The Justice, Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) group assured South Africans that strict measures were in place to ensure the national elections ran smoothly.

This was despite threats from trucking unions and associations earlier this week to close major routes across the country, to express their displeasure at the challenges in the sector.

During a press conference on Thursday evening, the JCPS group said it had coordinated with the government to ensure that any threats or potential threats that could compromise the integrity and smooth conduct of the elections were addressed.
