Gardaí appeal for witnesses as 30-year-old man dies after collision in Clare

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Co Clare.

The collision occurred this Saturday morning on the N18 at Portdrine, Cratloe Co Clare, just outside Limerick city.

At approximately 4am, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision between a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to University Hospital Limerick, where he later died.

The main road between Limerick and Shannon is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators and local diversions are in place.

The local coroner has been notified and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road user who may have camera footage (including dash cam) and who was traveling in the area at the time should make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
