As South Africans anxiously await the final results of the 2024 general election, some traditional healers in Limpopo’s Sekhukhune district have already predicted the outcome.

“According to the bones and how I have seen them, the ANC will continue to occupy the first position followed by the DA in the second position, and the EFF will occupy the third position followed by the other political parties,” said a traditional healer. .

“Although the ANC is in the lead, it will get only 50% of the votes, with all other political parties sharing the other 50%.”

Another traditional healer echoed this prediction, also throwing her bones and consulting the ancestors.

She stated: “When I look at the bones, they clearly show that the ANC will win and continue to rule the country. Other parties will follow, but they will not defeat the ANC in these elections. “The ANC is protected by its ancestors, like Nelson Mandela and others.”

South Africa elections 2024: 20% of votes counted before midday on the first day

Meanwhile, halfway through the first day of vote counting in South Africa’s 2024 national and provincial elections, more than 20% of the votes have been counted.

As of 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, the results of 4,710 of the 23,293 electoral districts had been registered. The Electoral Commission’s results panel indicates that the ANC is currently leading with 43.51% of the vote.

The Democratic Alliance follows with 24.65%, while the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have 8.85%. The uMKhonto we Sizwe (MK Party) has obtained around 8.11%, and the Patriotic Alliance (AP) stands at 4.07%.

Millions of South Africans participated in Wednesday’s elections, enduring long queues reminiscent of the historic 1994 elections.
