Man, 41, charged with 3 counts of attempted murder after pickup truck crash: Moose Jaw police

Moose Jaw police say a 41-year-old man has been charged with three counts of attempted murder after a crash between two pickup trucks on Thursday.

Officers responded to a crash at the intersection of Thatcher Drive East and Highway 1 at about 6:15 pm CST, according to a Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) news release.

Police said the officers noticed significant damage to both trucks upon arrival.

MJPS said investigators determined one of the trucks intentionally rear-ended the other one — which had three people inside — at a high speed. After the crash, the assailant got out of his truck and assaulted the other driver with a baseball bat, police say.

Police told the accused and three victims know each other.

Paramedics brought the three victims to hospital where they were treated for minor injuries, MJPS said.

The accused has been remanded to the Regina Correctional Center and will appear in Moose Jaw Provincial Court at a later date, police said.

Anyone with video footage of the crash is asked to contact MJPS.
