Revolut users across Ireland were experiencing issues with the app this morning as millions of Google users around the world faced a sudden service outage.

Shortly after 2pm this afternoon, reports of Revolut usage spiked on the website downdetector.ie. As of this writing, over 500 reports have been filed, with the most prominent issue being fund transfer issues.

Some users reported that they were unable to access online banking, while others were unable to access their accounts at all.

When trying to access it, users were receiving a message saying “Uh oh, something went wrong” and the situation was being closely monitored for any effects on Google’s other services.

A Revolut spokesperson said: “Today we experienced a technical issue with our app which affected some of our customers. The issue was quickly identified and has now been fixed, making the app fully functional again for those affected.

“Many of our customers were not affected by this and all of our customers’ money and data remains safe. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”
