National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to reject the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 7, 2024 general elections.

In a statement dubbed “The time for change is near”, 150 days before the 2024 elections, the former president urged Ghanaians to vote for him and the NDC for change “to signal the need for all of us to build together the Ghana we want.”

According to him, building Ghana together means voting for “MAHAMA – your experienced, visionary, truthful and humble servant – as the next President of Ghana.”

“Building Ghana together means rejecting the arrogance, corruption and greed of this NPP administration that is failing to deliver and only seeking to extend the poor governance and socio-economic hardships imposed on us by the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government.”

“On December 7, I will need your vote to RESET our beloved country, Ghana, fix the broken economy, create decent, well-paying jobs for the youth through the 24-hour economy initiative and establish a National Women’s Bank to provide financial assistance to one million women-owned businesses,” the NDC flagbearer said.

He continued: “I need your vote to investigate and punish corrupt NPP officials who have stolen and continue to steal from poor taxpayers, scrap COVID and E taxes, abolish ex gratia and drastically reduce the size of government to a maximum of sixty ministers.”
