$3m fraud suspect shot dead at accuser’s home – The Zimbabwe Mail

Amos Kagonya allegedly shot himself in the head outside businessman Felix Munyaradz’s home in Borrowdale.

HARARE – A man was shot dead at the home of businessman Felix Munyaradzi in Borrowdale on Tuesday, hours before a court ruled on his fraud trial related to the illegal sale of homes valued at $3 million.

Amos Kagona, a car dealer, was due to be sentenced by Harare magistrate Stanford Mambanje, along with Jacob Muyambo and Saymore Mutakura, after being tried on charges of defrauding Munyaradzi’s company, Delatfin Civil Engineering. Muyambo was CFO of Delatfin.

Footage showed Kagona lying on his back at Munyaradzi’s door after shooting himself in the head.

The allegations against the men were that they sold common land – serviced residential land on state land that property developers are legally required to hand over to the government, usually 10 per cent of the residential land in a particular development.

Muyambo and Mutakura appeared before Mambanje, who adjourned the trial until Thursday.
