JAMB and VC to decide cut-off scores for varsities and others on July 18

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, along with university vice-chancellors, polytechnic vice-chancellors and chancellors of colleges of education, among other stakeholders in the education sector, will meet on July 18, 2024 to decide the cut-off or minimum marks. for admission.

This year’s meeting will be chaired by the Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, according to a notification obtained by our correspondent in Abuja on Monday.

“During the exercise, the registrar will submit reports on the just-concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and ongoing Direct Entry applications, while analyzing key performance indicators that could shape the government’s policy directions in the area of admission.

“Further, the meeting would appraise the stakeholders on the salient issues that arose in the course of the intake exercise of previous years.

“In addition, the policy meeting would also analyze the candidates’ performance in the current year’s UTME to determine the minimum admissible score for the year,” the notice said.

Recall that in previous years the interested parties had agreed on the minimum requirement for admission to universities, polytechnics and faculties of education.

This year’s meeting will determine admission requirements and at the same time launch the admission process for the current year.
